Faculty Diploma in Restorative Dentistry
I have been taking the two year Faculty Diploma in Restorative
Dentistry at Manchester University. It is a big undertaking, but
I felt that it was now or never, and I wanted the option of progressing
on the pathway to fellowship (FFGDP).
I have enjoyed the course and gained a lot of new ‘state
of the art knowledge’ in addition to reinforcing old knowledge.
The course and workload are time consuming and demanding, so I
wouldn’t recommend it if you have a young family who need
your attention as they don’t stay young for long.
The course is quite expensive and requires attendance at about 14 study days. However, increased knowledge gained and the confidence that this gives, has increased my private fees sufficiently to cover the cost of the course and the loss of earnings.
It is nice to get out of the practice and meet a crowd of good dentists. I thoroughly recommend this course.
